Research profile/understanding

The research focus of the Department of Sport Sociology is: sport and racism, sport and belonging, sport and social inequality, regional and municipal sport development and the democratic and social capital functions of sport clubs as voluntary organisations. The department's disciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research work is theoretically grounded and empirically orientated, both quantitatively and qualitatively. An attitude that critically reflects on and categorises its own activities and the knowledge produced in the sociology of sport is a guiding principle of research.
